Salute Your Shorts: A Flash Fiction Workshop
SALUTE YOUR SHORTS
Flash fiction is having a moment. Web-based literary journals and print anthologies dedicated to the form of telling stories in under 1,000 words abound. These short-short stories walk the line between prose and poetry, inviting writers to experiment with form and language. This 8 week, 8 session generative workshop will help participants get acquainted with the flash fiction genre. Students will study works by contemporary writers, explore different approaches to crafting flash, discuss revision, review best practices for submitting to literary magazines, and (of course) write and receive feedback on new creative work.
